Telkom was founded as part of the SA Government Department of Post and Telecommunications, and listed in 2003. It offers fixed line services to both enterprises and to retail customers. It has a market cap of R13 billion and a price to earnings ratio of 28, but has suspended dividend payments. The SA government still owns 40% of Telkom.
